garbage "Garbage" Does It Again

by Liam Watkins

Garbage was formed early 1995 when lead singer Shirley Manson left her band "Angel Fish" to team up with Butch Vig, Steve Marker and Duke Ericson. Their first album "self titled" was totally successful. The song "#1 crush" was featured on the "Romeo and Juliet" sound track and was made their first single. In 1998 they released "Version 2.0" and they are now touring with Alanis Morisette. The video for the song "Special" is remarkable, it's more like a computer game than anything! The video for "push it" is made to look like it has been shot in the 60'sand with the right clothes and effects it did just that! Garbage are really creative with there music and lyrics. I would classify them as Electronica/rock but lead singer Shirley Manson sees it more as a "pop mongrel" what ever that is!?
